Sadie's Europe Trip
I had the awesome opportunity to go with my little sister Kadie to Europe. We visited southern France (Provence), Italy, Switzerland, Germany, and Paris. Thanks to Steve Haslam, my old professor for keeping in touch and letting us tag along. We were gone May 2 through May 22. This was an amazing experience with lots of memories.

We flew into Nice, France and stayed there 4 nights. While there we visited the Matisse and Chagall museums, and the Maeght Foundation Museum. We also went to an archeaological Roman ruins museum/site. It was beyond awesome. We also were able to visit St. Paul de Vence , the most amazing little castle town. This village was out of a fairy tale. I loved it. Nice had pebble beaches and was beautiful.
Then onto Arles. We stayed in Arles 4 nights also. Arles was my favorite place. I loved it so much, in fact, that if I wasn't so happy in Utah, I would move their in a heartbeat! We visited the Picasso museum, took a trip to St. Remy where Van Gogh checked himself into the asylum there, Glanum (Roman ruins), and followed the Van Gogh trail. I found the most amazing secret underground tunnels while in St. Remy. It had to be part of the roman ruins, but it was off limits to the public. I kind of just stumbled onto it by accident, but it was the most amazing thing I have ever seen. We also got to see real live bull fights and games. That was incredible! Kadie and I took the train to northern Italy and ate gellato by the sea. We also took the train to Cannes where they were preparing for the Cannes film festival. One night Kadie and I were on our way back from swimming at the beach and I got a unicorn tattoo! It was so cool. Of course, it was temporary and lasted about 3 weeks. I could go on and on about those 5 wonderful days in Arles!
Kadie and I took a bus down to St. Marie de la mer, a little town on the mediterranean sea known for it's unique horses, bulls, and pink flamingos. The Camargue horse is born brown or black, but as it matures turns white. There were herds of white horses running everywhere. We payed for a 2 hour ride on these amazing creatures. We got to run through the ocean with them and on the beach. It was the most amazing experience!
