Family Vacation July 2009
This summer we took our first planned out family vacation that included just us. We started off by driving to Wendover and playing at a great park. Then we drove to Ely and went swimming at the old swimming hole. I used to swim there as a kid while visiting my grandparents so it was very nostalgic for me. And of course the kids loved it.
Then we took a ride on the Ghost Train. The kids thought it was so cool to ride a real train.
After the train, we visited a lot of different sites in Ely that I used to go to as a kid. We stayed the night in Ely, and then got up and drove to Cathedral Gorge. We took a hike and explored the caves. The kids absolutely loved it. This state park also has some great memories for me as a child.
Our last leg of the journey found us in Alamo where we spent the 4th of July. We went to the parade and the booths at the park and watched the fireworks. The kids rarely left the pool in grandma's yard, and they had so much fun playing with their cousins. It was a great trip!
